National Nanomanufacturing Network: The Massachusetts Interagency Nanotechnology Committee will be holding a workshop to promote the safe development of nanotechnology in Massachusetts on January 29, 2009.

This workshop will provide a forum for continuing dialogue with stakeholders from industry, government, research, and academia on approaches to protecting workers, the public, and the environment from exposure to engineered nanoparticles. The focus is on existing best practices and good current practices, the opportunities they present to support safe nanotechnology in Massachusetts, and techniques to measure airborne nanoparticle releases in the workplace.

The workshop agenda includes presentations and measurement training sessions from Dr. Charles Geraci (NIOSH) and Dr. Michael Ellenbecker (TURI), breakout discussions about the application of good practices throughout the life cycle of nano-enabled products, open discussions about supporting safe nanotechnology in Massachusetts, and lunch.

Registration for the event is now open; fee is $50.
