National Nanomanufacturing Network: Registration is open and a call for papers has been issued for the 6th New England InterNational Nanomanufacturing Workshop to be held September 11-12, 2008, in Boston.

The Center for High-Rate Nanomanufacturing is organizing the annual event that will address current developments and successes in moving nanotechnology from the laboratory to industry-floor manufacturing, including:

  • What are the technical barriers to scale-up of directed assembly and other approaches?
  • What are the technical barriers to integrating nanoscale elements, structures, etc. with micro- and macro-structures into systems?
  • What are the currently available risk assessment tools and best environmental, health and safety practices for nanotechnology? Are there regulatory concerns for researchers or manufacturers?

The deadline for papers and presentations is August 1st, 2008. Prospective authors are requested to submit an abstract of 200-300 words that includes a summary of significant results, presenter's name and contact information, and a short biography to Carolyn Oakes, Staff Assistant, NSF Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing, tel (617) 373-6012, fax: (617) 373-3266, email: c.oakes@neu.edu.
