Dr. Berhan Tecle founded Ultrafine Technologies, Inc. (“Ultrafine”) in 1995 to commercialize a novel method of producing commercial quantities of proprietary nanomaterials.

Lightwave Logic is the producer of our "Game Changing Next Generation Electro-Optic Material Platform", plastics (polymers). These molecularly engineered "nano-materials" exhibit unprecedented stability and electrooptic susceptibility, breaking open broad new applications and markets in fiberoptic telecom and high-speed computation.

Micromeritics provides a complete line of scientific instruments and laboratory equipment targeted exclusively for areas of application and research involving particle science and particle technology, including the expanding area of nanoscience. Particle size analyzers employ laser diffraction, sedimentation, and electrozone sensing. Physical adsorption and mercury porosimetry instruments determine surface area and porosity. Material density can be determined by gas pycnometry and solids displacement.

Aerogel Composite, LLC's primary objective is to develop and supply aerogel based composite materials for a wide variety of industries. Aerogel Composite has developed a carbon aerogel based electrocatalyst for use in the manufacturing of fuel cell electrodes. The catalyst can reduce the platinum requirements for fuel cell vehicles to approximately 30% of current levels while improving performance.

The Laboratory’s unparalleled expertise in the areas of guidance, navigation, and control systems remains its greatest resource. Draper is among the leaders in fault-tolerant computing, reliable software development, modeling and simulation, and MEMS technology. It applies its expertise to a broad range of domains, including autonomous air, land, sea, and space systems; information integration; distributed sensors and networks; precision-guided munitions; air traffic flow management; military logistics; and biomedical engineering and chemical/biological defense.

Aerodyne Research, Inc. (ARI) has provided research and development (R&D) services to commercial and government clients working to solve national and international problems since 1970. Our R&D staff is organized into six technology centers which address a wide range of topics requiring expertise in the physical and engineering sciences. These include such critical issues as global and regional environmental quality and development of clean and efficient energy and propulsion technologies.

ZettaCore was founded by scientists from the University of California Riverside and North Carolina State University, along with business executives with experience in computer, IT and biotechnology firms. The company has attracted considerable attention in the venture capital community, closing its first round of funding late in 2001. ZettaCore's venture backers include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Oxford Biosciences, Radius Venture Partners, Access Venture Partners, Garrett Capital/BancOne and Stanford University.

TDA Research, Inc. was founded in 1987 and is located in Wheat Ridge and Golden, CO. TDA’s staff of 84 develops catalysts and sorbents, advanced materials and components. Our development work is primarily supported by government R&D contracts. TDA retains the intellectual property developed under these contracts, and works in partnership with larger manufacturing companies to bring our products to market.
