Sonia Grego

Sonia Grego has been a research scientist at RTI International in the Center for Materials and Electronic Technologies (formerly the MCNC Research and Development Institute) since 2001. Her expertise is in microfabricated devices for photonics and biological/biomedical applications as well as flexible electronics. Her current research interests include optical waveguide-based biosensors and lab-on-a-chip devices. She received her PhD in Physics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and her MS in Physics from the University of Pisa, Italy. Her post-doctoral research in biophysics was focused on the development of optical systems for biological studies (laser tweezers) and optical microscopy. She has authored over 30 publications and holds two patents.
