James J. Watkins

James J. Watkins

Jim Watkins is the Co-Director of the MassNanoTech Institute and the Director of the NSF Center for Hierarchical Manufacturing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a professor in the University's Polymer Science Department and the recipient of numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER Award, the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, and the David and Lucille Packard Foundation Fellowship for Science and Engineering.
His research interests include macromolecular templates for functional device structures, materials synthesis and processing in supercritical fluids, phase behavior and transport in multi-component polymer systems, and scalable fabrication of nanostructure materials.
