National Nanomanufacturing Network: The OECD Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials has released a representiative set of manufactured nanomaterials that will be tested for human health and environmental safety effects.

The list, comprised of 14 manufactured nanomaterials, represents a core of such materials that are currently in or soon to enter commerce. They will be characterized and tested for various health and safety qualities, such as environmental fate, environmental and mammalian toxicology, and material safety.

The OECD is an intergovernmental organization of 30 industrialized countries in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. The Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials was established in 2006 to address the safety challenges presented by nanomaterials.
